Perth’s top hair stylist and one of Scotland’s leading hairdressing entrepreneurs, Charlie Taylor, has leant her support to the latest Russian revolution: Hairdressing. Charlie has recently returned from her role judging and presenting at the inaugural Russian Hairdressing Awards at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
Charlie, who was joined on stage at the awards by fellow members of the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame Beverly Cobella, Nicky Clarke and Andrew Collinge, was delighted to be involved in the launch of the first ever Russian Hairdressing Awards which were sponsored by hair giant Schwarzkopf.
“This was an incredible honour to be judging the first ever Russian Hairdressing Awards. Britain has led the world in hairdressing for many years and it’s fantastic to see other countries actively trying to improve their standards” said Charlie.
Peter Belcher of Schwarzkopf Professional said “The choice of a British judging panel reflects the high regard that the British industry is held in internationally, and the event aims to celebrate as well as raise the bar on Russian Hairdressing”
The awards event took place within the walls of the Kremlin Palace and, for the businesswoman and mother of three, this was a real treat.
“The Kremlin Palace is quite literally breath taking. As the first Scottish hairdresser to ever perform in the Kremlin Palace I was undoubtedly flying the flag for our nation, not to mention British Hairdressing. It was a fantastic opportunity to work with some of Russia’s up and coming hairdressing stars and to present our skills to an international audience.” said Charlie.
Charlie, who founded her business in Perth 23 years ago, was inducted into the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame in 2005, in recognition of obtaining the title Scottish Hairdresser of the Year three times. She now operates four salons in Scotland and has a burgeoning education business which specialises in the development and training of many of Scotland’s leading hair stylists.
