Nominations and special honours for the second annual Scottish Fashion Awards in association with Hamilton & Inches were announced today and include a diverse group of rising stars and industry leaders who embody and shape the energy, creativity, and vision that highlights Scotland as a leading producer of innovative fashion talent. Nominations were selected from leading figures in fashion and an online nomination system. The finalists will be judged by an exclusive panel made up of professionals from the world’s leading fashion houses, the most renowned and respected fashion publications and leading figures in style with winners announced at the Gala VIP event on Sunday 9th September at Stirling Castle, Scotland.
Winners across the ten categories, which will include designers, retailers, models, cashmere designers, textile manufacturers, fashion communicators, fashion icons and new for 2007, accessory designers, will be announced at the premiere event. Designed to reflect the glamour and diversity that defines the Scottish fashion talent, the program includes a VIP Champagne reception in Stirling Castle’s Chapel Royal, the awards program hosted by TV personality Jenni Falconer inside Stirling Castle’s Great Hall, and a VIP after-party.
The event will also honour an individual whose outstanding career in fashion will be celebrated by an induction into the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame, sponsored by Bentley Motors Limited. The honoree will be announced in September at a special pre-awards event and will follow the 2006 recipients photographer Albert Watson and the late Bill Gibb.
Each winner will receive a handcrafted art piece specially designed by internationally renowned Scottish sculptor Andy Scott, whose work has been exhibited in cities around the world.

We have had a record number of entries and nominations and the standard is extremely high: the judges have been set an exciting challenge to select the winner for each category. Hamilton & Inches are delighted to be the headline sponsor of the Scottish Fashion Awards for the second year. The success of Scot’s in the fashion industry, both in the UK and internationally, is something to be highlighted and celebrated.”
Event Founder / producer Tessa Hartmann said: “The Scottish Fashion Awards represent an incredible opportunity for the Scottish fashion talent to be seen by respected fashion authorities from around the world. The biggest challenge for designers new and ‘old’ is continued awareness and publicity. As an event we are delighted that we have brought so much awareness to so many different types of fashion creators and innovators from Scotland – that’s what this is all about!”
